Oh, Baby 0-23 mos.

Parent attends with child and both learn the music of our culture: lullabies, bounces, finger plays, tickles and more!  Babies and family bond through the songs and loving activities that used to be passed from generation to generation, back when everyone from grandma to baby lived together under the same roof. New songs are taken home every week and used to soothe and delight both child and parent. For children, this class helps develop a steady beat and singing voice--the foundation for a lifetime of music learning. The songs and musical activities also help to develop motor skills, spacial relations and social relations. Watch as your baby becomes more and more aware of the other babies. So much fun!

So Big!  2 to 3 years-old

Many of the same benefits as the “Baby, Baby” class, but now we are really moving! Imagination enters into the world of young children at this age, the perfect time to  incorporate dramatic elements. Parent and child learn wonderful, active songs that move our bodies in order to develop large motor skills, as well very early instrument technique. Watch your child’s ability take off during this class! Children will often begin to sing in front of others at this age, perfect for fun vocal exploration and songs together and at home.

Little Wings 31/2 to 5 years-old

Children create music in this fast-paced, engaging class. Through joyful play, children will explore musical elements such as high/low, loud/soft and fast/slow.  Children take their first steps towards music literacy with colorful icons representing beat, rhythm,

and melodic direction. Through games and songs important musical skills are developed, such as pattern recognition, pitch matching, steady beat, and playing rhythms. Glockenspiels, xylophones, drums, shakers, and bells all make up the accompaniment for singing and moving. Creative movement with piano music, puppets, good books, scarves, and balls help round out a class that is serious fun!
